Head of Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, Occupational Safety)

Company: Eura Mobil GmbH & Karmann Mobil GmbH
Period: October 2004 – May 2008
Role: Head of Quality Management, Occupational Safety &Environmental Management

As the manager responsible for quality, environment, and occupational safety, I was entrusted with completely restructuring and professionalizing the management systems for both company brands. I led the department and was responsible for strategic and operational quality assurance throughout the entire product life cycle.

My core responsibilities and results:

  • Strategic development of management systems:

    • Complete restructuring and successful recertification of the integrated management system (quality, environment, occupational safety).
    •
    • Reorganization and management of the quality management department.
    •
    • Creation and implementation of all QM documentation, including test instructions and control plans.
  •
  • Operational quality planning and assurance:

    • Introduction and application of APQP methods to support the development of new motorhomes.
    •
    • Execution and coordination of sampling processes in accordance with VDA 2 / PPAP.
    •
    • Specification and procurement of test equipment and fixtures for series production testing.
  •
  • Crisis management and assumption of additional responsibilities:

    • Crisis intervention: Design and set up a complete temporary vehicle paint shop within just two weeks to remedy massive, short-term quality defects and ensure delivery.
    •
    • Additional temporary takeover of the management of internal vehicle logistics and fleet management following the departure of the responsible manager.
    •
    • Development of special paint finishes and repair methods to solve specific quality problems.

Reason for leaving:
After a prolonged absence due to health reasons and fundamental strategic decisions made by the management during this time that no longer aligned with my professional convictions and quality standards, I decided to resign in order to take on new challenges.

Project impact:
In a challenging environment, I not only built up and certified the entire management system from scratch, but also demonstrated entrepreneurial responsibility in extreme crisis situations and created pragmatic, effective solutions that went far beyond the usual scope of my responsibilities.
