Project: Preparation of the safety case for the road approval of an autonomous delivery robot

I was specifically commissioned by TERAKI to quickly compile the crucial safety evidence for an innovative autonomous delivery robot. The primary goal was to complete the application documents for operating approval in public spaces, thereby fulfilling a critical prerequisite for commercial use.

My core responsibilities and results:

  • Conducting the hazard and risk analysis (HARA): In an agile process, I conducted a comprehensive HARA to systematically identify and evaluate all potential hazards of robot operation in public transport.
  • Creation of the safety case argumentation: Based on the HARA and the precise item definition of the system, I developed a coherent and comprehensible chain of argumentation. This outlined how the identified risks could be safely controlled through technical and organizational measures.
  • Preparation of approval documents: My work provided the key safety-related content required for the official application to the relevant approval authority. I prepared the documents specifically for external assessment and official review.

Project impact:
Thanks to my fast and targeted work, TERAKI was able to submit the application documents for approval on time and in full. I thus made a decisive contribution to overcoming a major hurdle for the product's market entry and paving the way for test and regular operation in public spaces.
