IEC 62061 or EN IEC 62061 is a sector-specific standard below IEC 61508. It describes the realization of safety-relevant control systems of machines and considers the entire life cycle from the concept phase to decommissioning.
2021 the new edition of IEC 62061 was published. The new edition is not only an update of the existing standard. For starters, the standard is no longer limited to electrical systems, but can now be used for all types of technologies, for example hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
