Statistical Design of Experiment (DoE) is a procedure for the planning of experiments which assumes that all experimental results are superimposed by unavoidable random errors. The random errors are taken into account with statistical methods not only during the evaluation, but already during the design of the experiment, i.e. before the often lengthy and cost-intensive experimental phase begins.
