Software Critical Path Analysis (SWCPA)

The Software Critical Path Analysis is a safety analysis method for software with the intention to detect the critical path across the software architecture. Its focus is put on fault tolerance and therefore the SWCPA defines positions for software safety mechanisms as required by ISO26262.

Additionally the Criticality ratingshall give

Ø evidence for a correct realization of key architectural requirements defined in the technical safety concept.

Ø evidence that the software architectural design of the application software  does not violate the requirement for freedom from interference.
